On June 4th, 2008, Cloudscape launched Robots, Pine Trees, and Broken Hearts, the first of ten anthologies to be published in the next decade. Since that date we have had regular meetups every Wednesday and expanded our publishing beyond the initial group anthologies to include many diverse and varied collections, as well as single-creator books. Cloudscape has also developed multiple community outreach programs such as Comics in Transit and Cloudshops and we are far from done!
To celebrate our milestone 15 years, we are having a BBQ event at our studio! This will be an extended event from 12 pm until 10 pm on Friday June 16, with hotdogs, discount books, button making, comic jams, and other fun drawing activities. If you are a past member or even just a fan of what we do, we’d love to see you! The event will also feature a live stream on our Twitch channel with the hope of raising funds for our reprint of Fantastic Frights!
We will be serving hotdogs (meat and veggie type) as well as chips and pop by donation. There will be a special sale on our used books and a 15% discount on all Cloudscape products.
Expect multiple drawing activities, including a button-making station. But there will also be time to socialize and visit old friends as well.
Feel free to drop in anytime and leave at your convenience throughout the event. Food will be served 12-2 pm and 7-8 pm.This is a dry event, so we ask that you don’t bring alcohol or outside food. There is a designated alcohol consumption area in the park, and lots of public space nearby if needed.
All you need to bring is enthusiasm!
